Last month I was surprised to see the Second Edition of my Amazon number one sales book How Winners Sell: 21 Proven Strategies to Outsell Your Competition and Win the Big Sale listed among Top Sales World’s Top 50 Sales Books (registration required).
I thanked Jonathan Farrington. He was evidently impressed with the book. I sent him a copy a while back.
The next day I received an email from Gareth Cuddy. Gareth is the CEO of vearsa.com, an ebook publishing company. Gareth had attended a workshop I ran at Cambridge University in the UK for high potential growth companies from Ireland, the UK, and Northern Ireland.
He saw TSW’s list and went to buy my book. He saw that although there were copies available, it was out of print. Clearly an opportunity for him.
Republishing How Winners Sell was the last thing on my mind, as I am in the final stages of completing the manuscript for a new book, with co-author Steve Andersen, which will be out during the first quarter of 2016.
His proposal was perfect: He recommended keeping the book exactly as it was, only removing outdated links, defunct companies, other obsolete references. His team would do that. And they would design a new cover. They’d put it up on Amazon, iBooks, Barnes & Noble as well as 1,000 or so libraries and a large number of other ebook sales outlets.
Hmmm… Here I am, just putting plans together for the promotion, marketing, and selling of my upcoming book, and I have a opportunity to get HWS republished with no effort. It would sure help in warming up the market, further building the mailing list, having the opportunity to discuss what still works in sales from then until now (more than you’d think).
We priced the ebook to sell at $5.99.
